Community Thanksgiving Service (2008)
October 31, 2008
Dear pastors and all the people of our community,
Let us come together and join hearts in giving praise and thanksgiving to our Savior and our Lord, Jesus Christ. This is the time to unite, to lift up one another, to give encouragement, and to give voice to the hope we have in Jesus.
What a joyful presence we will make when, during stressful economic times, we still come to offer a sacrifice of praise. Now is the time to stand apart, to be a people who walk in the way and demonstrate their love for one another and our neighbor. Let’s begin with some cans of food for the Food Closet.
Come to the Community Thanksgiving Service
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
6:45 p.m.
Culpeper Baptist Church
318 S. West Street, Culpeper, VA 22701
Dr. John Kinney, Dean of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, will give us a message of encouragement and unity.
Invite a friend or neighbor. Invite all to his house. All are invited.
For further information, please contact Nancy Palmer at Culpeper United Methodist Church at 540.825.0764 ext. 16
Yours in Christian Service,
Dr. Charlene T. Phillips
President, Culpeper Ministerial Association
P.S. If you are enjoying a Thanksgiving, consider a sacrificial Thanksgiving gift of cans of food for the Food Closet run by St. Stephens Episcopal Church. The Food Closet is so perilously low on cans of food and more families are in need. Let’s see how full we can fill the box truck that will be parked at the Baptist Church to receive your gifts.
